The AWAA kicked off their 2019 season with the annual ODT on Saturday, and it was everything you'd expect. NY dealt us a high of 45 degrees, with insane wind and occasional snow. Thanks to the leagues very flexible PED policy, there is a solid chance there were multiple players higher than the temperature. Major surprises included:
Round Robin was uneventful, with pretty much everyone throwing mid-mound just trying to hit the board. Team by team, in reverse order of performance:
I'm not sure if the PEDS kicked in, or the alcohol wore off, but the playoffs were a different animal.
In a near unanimous vote, Jordan Robles ran away with the MVP. He only gave up one run across two games, and hit every pitcher he faced. Somehow Caleb Jonkman got a vote though, and took second place. Lavalley?
